25 years have passed since Lidia Marina Sperling discovered the beauty of playing the flute. Lidia`s wonderful, pure sound and musical sensitivity captivate and delight audiences from the beginning to the end of her performances.

Lidia is not only a professional flutist, but also a certified Creativity Coach and the author of the book Coaching for Musicians, which you can find on all Amazon sites. At present Lidia is living in Switzerland, where she teaches flute and works as a performance, career and life coach for musicians.

Between 2011 and 2017, Lidia was the Principal Flutist of the State Philharmonic of Sibiu in Romania and between 2013-2016 she was a flute teacher at the Art High School in Sibiu. During this period of time, she had concerts in Romania, Italy, Germany, France and in Switzerland as a soloist or in different chamber music groups.

Over the years, Lidia has worked with renowned flutists such as: Verena Bosshart, Arife Gülsen Tatu, Christian Studler and took master classes with Emily Beynon, Heidi Indermühle, Andrea Kollé. They all made an important contribution in refining her technique and style of playing the flute.

Due to her talent and hard work, Lidia has won many awards at music competitions in Romania between 1997 and 2006. Some of them were: The Jury Prize at the Yamaha music competition in Bucharest (2006), first prize at the “J.S.Bach” music competition in Cluj-Napoca (2002, 2003), third prize at the national music competition in Bucharest (2001), and first prize at the Instrumental Competition in Deva (1998).

In 2006, Lidia received an Erasmus scholarship for six months at the University of Music in Trossingen, Germany. During that summer, she played the second flute with the Europa Philharmonie under the chief conductor Reinhard Seehafer on a tour through Germany. In 2007 after earning her Bachelor’s degree at Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Lidia continued her studies in Switzerland with Christian Studler. In 2008/2009 she was a trainee with the Bern Symphony Orchestra and in 2010 she completed her musical education with an Orchestra Diploma at the University of Arts in Bern.
